Scott Wiener tells black lesbian 'trans women are women' when she asks how he'll protect women's spaces

"I also know that trans women are also brutalized in this country, so women and cisgender women are brutalized in this country."

California singer Tish Hyman confronted State Senator-turned-congressional candidate Scott Wiener over policies on transgenderism. Hyman had multiple altercations with a trans person in her gym bathroom, where he watched her naked, refused to give her privacy, and claimed to be female.

It was later revealed that the man had been convicted of domestic violence against his wife. She had suffered a compound fracture of her jaw and required reconstructive surgery. The man later took his ex-wife's first name as his own post-transition.

Hyman confronted Wiener at a campaign event and asked, "As the only black lesbian here, can I please ask you a question?" She told him she flew in after she was "attacked in a woman's locker room at Gold's Gym this week by a self-identifying trans woman with a documented history of domestic violence."

Wiener is a proponent and architect of trans legislation in California. He worked hard to make sure the state was a transgender sanctuary state, meaning children could be given sex change treatments without parental approval. He has advocated for prostitution and also worked to reduce sentences for gay pedophiles. He is running for Congress to replace long-time San Francisco Rep. Nancy Pelosi. Her daughter is running for Wiener's seat.

"I'm deeply concerned about women's safety in female-only spaces," she said. "What would you say to women who are seeking assurance that their safety will be protected from men who, by California law, can self-ID as women in women-only spaces?"

Wiener conflated women and trans women, who are men who say they are women. "So we want, I mean, everyone to be safe," Wiener said.

"And we also know that we have trans people, both men and women, who are men and women, and so, you know, so trans women are women."

Hyman told him that while she appreciated some of his policies, she had serious issues with the trans ideology being codified into law. "Millions of women in America are being harassed and sexually assaulted in locker rooms. I'm a lesbian, black woman, I'm not transphobic, I'm not homophobic, and I do respect a lot of the things you've done, but I do see a lot of these bills that you've passed that are dangerous for women and young children, and I understand that you're trying to be on a level playing field, and I'm here to represent my community, because I hear a lot of things about my community in these bills.

"And I'm telling you as a woman, first and foremost, that this is dangerous and we need your help, because you're in the office, you're going to go into Pelosi's spot, I want to support you. I have millions of people behind me watching this right now.

"We want to know, are you going to protect women? Not trans women, women. Women and trans women are different things. Women," Hyman said.

A white man in the audience spoke up and groaned, telling her that "trans women are women." This is factually incorrect, as women are adult human females and trans women are adult human males who pretend to be women.

"No they are not," Hyman said. "They are men." Audience members booed at her, but she did not stop.

"Listen," Hyman said, "we need to protect women's safety. I was assaulted. I was assaulted. He broke his wife's jaw. So bad she needed to reconstruct the surgery. I'm a lesbian, I'm not transphobic, and I'm black, so if there's another black woman in here wants to tell me how they feel, please join in. But all of you are not and I don't know who you are, or what you are, but I'm a lesbian, and I'm telling you right now, men are harassing women in the locker room. I'm just telling you now I'm done, and by the way, I respect what you have done. I just want you to know that."

"I appreciate your point of view," Wiener said. "I'm so sorry that you were harassed. I appreciated you talking about it." Then he pivoted to saying that it is trans women, the very men who have been confronting and harassing women in bathrooms and locker rooms, who need to be protected.

"I think we need to protect the safety of all women," Wiener said. "Obviously, that's incredibly important. I also know that trans women are also brutalized in this country, so women and cisgender women are brutalized in this country."

"We cannot be raped in the bathrooms by men that want to say they're women. They're not women." She was escorted out.
