The bill passed 57-41.
The Indiana House on Friday passed a congressional map that would make all nine seats in the state GOP-majority. The bill passed 57-41, and now heads to the GOP-controlled state Senate, which will reconvene on Monday.
Per CBS News, a number of Republicans in the Indiana State Senate have been opposed to redistricting efforts in the state. One of those vocal opponents, state Sen Kyle Walker, has announced he would not be seeking reelection. Two others, Senators Eric Bassler and Greg Walker, have also said they are not seeking reelection and are opposed.
Turning Point USA spokesperson Andrew Kolvet told Politico that the organization would be partnering with other super PACS to dedicate an "eight-figure spend" to "primary people that are standing in the way of the president’s agenda."
Kolvet said, "We look at Indiana as a test case and a cautionary tale, potentially one or the other, it’s their choice. This is a super high priority, and we’re going to be working with the local, grassroots to make sure their voices heard and their priorities are not steamrolled by an out-of-touch elected class."
Turning Point Action held an "All In For Indiana" event at the Indiana Statehouse on Friday afternoon to call on lawmakers to support the new congressional map. At one point, the crowd drowned out an MSNOW reporter with their cheers.

This comes amid redistricting efforts in other states, including Texas, whose map that creates five GOP-majority seats in the House was ruled on by the Supreme Court on Friday. The high court allowed the map in that state to be used as legal proceedings move forward. In California, voters approved a measure that would take redistricting authority away from an independent commission and give it to the Democratic-led California State Legislature.
